Rewrote the pre-call brief the architect reads before a customer call so it lands at a 10th-grade reading level — short sentences, plain words, and the trade terms left intact because those are the ones that carry meaning.
💡 Lesson: Simplifying the writing is not the same as dumbing down the vocabulary — a non-native reader needs shorter sentences, not smaller words.

Renamed three headings in that same brief after a real ambiguity turned up: 'pitch points' means roof pitch to an architect, so the sales heading became 'What to say on the call'.
💡 Lesson: A word that is jargon in your trade can be a plain technical term in your customer's — check the reader's dictionary, not your own.

Closed the last blind spot in my AI team's memory: it now reads every line of the daily notes whatever shape it was written in, instead of only the shapes it had been taught — then re-checked every day on record and found two finished jobs that had never been filed.
💡 Lesson: A checklist that lists what to look for only ever catches what you already imagined — write down what to ignore instead, and nothing new can slip past it.

Gave the pre-call research brief its building-code section without buying a data subscription — wind and snow design figures for 107 counties across New York, New Jersey and the DC area, looked up once and reused on every future enquiry from those areas.
💡 Lesson: Some numbers depend on the place, not the customer — gather them once for the whole map and the 'we need to pay for a data feed' problem disappears.

Hand-built an account-level brief on a resort enquiry the automated version correctly refused — the enquiry gave no address and mentioned several venues, so the machine stopped and I wrote the human version: eight outdoor spaces ranked, plus the fact that the resort already sells a six-seat heated glass lounge.
💡 Lesson: A system that refuses a job it cannot do honestly is worth more than one that guesses — the refusal is the signal that a person should pick it up.
